The day started out with a little sun--something we've been missing. Here is a view of the Tuscan hills from our room.
The town civic center in the main piazza was beautiful
We aren't much for churches, but the Siena Duomo is one of our favorites. We love what's inside and there aren't hordes of people.
The mosaic floors are stunning. Love this one with Siena in the center and Roma and Firenze are on the outside.
Here's one of the Bernini statues in a small chapel. We were the only ones in the room. Something that doesn't happen much in Italy.
And the amazing illuminated manuscripts in the small library room.
After the Duomo we went into the museum. Nearly all of the statues on the outside of the Duomo are reproductions. The originals including the main stained glass window are found inside.
We had a drink on Il Campo by the beautiful fountain.
A very good day!
