We took a Flixbus from Bologna to Siena yesterday afternoon. It broke down along the way and we had to get out of one bus and into another. Luckily it only took about a half an hour.
It was so nice returning to the Palazzetto Rosso Hotel, built in the mid 1200s. It quite a place.
The views from our room are spectacular.
Today we walked down to the Piazza where they hold the famous horse races, Il Campo.
The town is divided up into neighborhoods--Contrade. Here's the "wave" neighborhood right by Il Campo. They are actually more than neighborhoods--they have their own churches, communities, and some even have museums.
We'd went to the Civic Museum, which we had never visited. It was quite beautiful.
There is a very famous fresco there showing good and bad government and what happens under each. Very appropriate right before our election.
